The World’s Great Tanks

Tracing the development of tanks from the early designs deployed on the Western Front in World War 1 to the battle winning machines used today, The World’s Great Tanks examines the history of the ungainly machines that have had such a great impact on twentieth-century warfare. The book discusses each tank’s development, design features, and their combat history, and also compares each model to those produced by rival manufacturers and countries. Among the machines featured are the T-34, Panzer IV, M60, Leopard, Abrams M1 and Challenger. As well as detailed and extensive text, The World’s Great Tanks is illustrated with 80 full-colour artworks and 80 colour and black and white photographs. These artworks show key tanks from various angles. In addition, each full-colour artwork is accompanied by a specifications table listing armament, armour, crew details, dimensions, engine capacity and speed.
