The Exploring the Universe series is a fascinating guide to the wonders of space exploration, covering subjects from the formation of black holes at the edge of the universe to the practical side of putting humans and scientific instruments in space. Aimed at children aged 8-12, the series covers the following topics:
Observing the Universe – A simple introduction to astronomy, the scale of the universe and the wonders of the night sky
Stars and Galaxies – The sun and other stars, how they shine and form into galaxies, including our own Milky Way
Planets and their Moons – Exploring our solar system, with features on each planet as well as the asteroid belt and comets
Astronauts – This book looks at the science of living and working in space, including astronaut training, food and missions
Exploring the Universe – from early space probes to the moon landings and space stations, this book describes how humans have explored the solar system
Probing Deep Space – this book looks at the unanswered questions in space exploration – is there life on other planets? Can we travel to other stars – or go back in time? – with a fun but scientific approach.
Each title provides a wealth of educational information accompanied by detailed, informative artworks and photographs. Exploring the Universe provides children with a wide range of information, including annotated illustration and a data box summarising key information.
