Hitler Youth examines in full the manipulation and corruption of a whole generation of German youth under the Nazis: the various youth organisations, the Nazi education system, and how the authorities gradually weaned children from their families to turn them into ‘good Nazis’. A large part of the training was to prepare Germany's youth for war, and so Hitler Youth contains chapters on the Hitlerjugend’s role in World War II. This included fighting in army, air force and navy units when the tide of war turned against the Third Reich. Hitler Youth also contains a chapter on the military record of the infamous Hitlerjugend Division.
